Most Cambridgeshire libraries have several computers for public use.

Using library computers

You need your library card barcode and PIN to access the internet
Using the Internet for information searching is free of charge but may be restricted to one hour per day
Printing is available (at a charge)
Children's Computers

Most libraries have at least one computer reserved for the use of children
Children do not need a PIN to access the internet
Restrictions are in place on the designated children's PCs - customers are discouraged from accessing any sites other than those selected by library staff
Children are permitted up to 3 free A4 printouts for homework materials where there is no suitable book available

Learning Centres

Learning Centres offer free IT Taster sessions and a range of online courses. There are two in Cambridge:

Arbury Court Learning Centre
Cambridge Central Library Learning Centre
Cambridge Online City
Use the internet and email for free in a Cambridge Online City internet access point.

Book your session by phoning or dropping in. They also offer free personal internet tutorials and an online tutorial.


Computer Learning in Cambridge (CLIC)

Offers free one-to-one and small group basic tutorials at a number of sites across the city of Cambridge, including libraries.

Tutorials take place at

Barnwell Road Library
Cherry Hinton Library
Milton Road Library
Rock Road Library
Please note that all sessions must be booked in advance. Please phone Cambridge Central Library Learning Centre on 01223 712184 to make your appointment.

These sessions last about 50 minutes and comprise a one-to-one session with one of CLIC's tutors who are skilled at helping people with little or no previous experience of using computers, to feel comfortable in their learning.
